Take a Look Back
When I began writing this blog post, I had a number of song lyrics pop into my head:
"Oops, I did it again" by Brittney Spears
"I'm moving on" by Rascall Flatts
"Celebrate, good times, COME ON" by Kool and the Gang
" Singing, oooohhhhh happiness" by NEEDTOBREATHE
No song really stood out though. That's because I am at a crossroads. I’ve come to a time in my career where even though I love the Y, and I know it’s time to choose a new adventure. I have struggled with how I tell people, or when. But the cat is out of the bag and so I’d rather you all hear it from me.
14 years with the Y, and the mission is still everything I believe in. A healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. The gift of community, health, and togetherness for many. Often a place to find a second home or meet people who you might consider a second family. Two and a half years ago, this team welcomed me back after a short break not working at the Y, and I fell in love with my team, the mission, and our community more than I ever had before.
Over the course of two years though, life has happened. While the mission is as strong as ever, I could tell that it was time for me to share my gifts with another community. The Y is blessed with many, whose hands serve abundantly, and I know that with them serving and the Lords guidance, my Y community with continue to be loved and the mission with be carried out.
Rewind to two weeks ago... and here’s the crossroads... I accepted the role as the Director of Admissions and Advancement at Life Christian Academy. A new season of life is coming and it is glorious. While change will come with learning and challenge, I am running TO this change and opportunity. I am stoked. I am honored. And I feel purposed.
I guess I’m here to let you all know, that while August 7 is my last day at the Y, I won’t be going far.
I will officially join the LCA family on August 13, and I will still be living in Tacoma. See, I told you I’m not going anywhere!
Stay in touch and I’ll see you at the Y (or maybe we can just grab coffee!)
In the meantime, here is a look back on my time at the Y:
1. An abundance of costumes.

In the meantime, here is a look back on my time at the Y:
1. An abundance of costumes.
2. Ainsley has grown up here.
3. We did some cool field trips and presentations.
4. I met some of the coolest people in the 253.
5. Planned some epic parties and events.
6. And met this dreamy guy, who I call my best friend and the love of my life...
